5 Ways To Get Your Guest Room Ready For The Holidays!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays are always very busy around my house. Since we have such a large family, there are always relatives coming to stay with us. For this purpose, I have created a list of 5 things that you can do in your home to spruce your guest room up for the holidays!

Extra bedding. I enjoy the temperature in my room set to 65* and often sleep with the window open through the cool months; however, most of my guests do not. Leave lots of extra bedding around the guest room for them to pick and choose from to make their stay more comfortable. I love the chunky look of this blanket for the cool season.

Replace the towels that your guest will be using with white fluffy towels. The first towels that I bought on my own were a dark green and I have regretted that ever since. From this point on, I will be only purchasing white towels- they are easy to keep clean and go with any bathroom décor that one might already have in their home. I like to fold up a few towels to put on the guest room bed before my guests arrive for convenience.

Two words: wall paper. What used to only be seen in your grandmother’s house can now make an amazing statement in all parts of your home, including your guest room. Stick to large, simple patterns for a striking accent wall in your guest’s space.

Love these foil gold leaves- they are so classic looking and would go with a variety of bedroom décor.

Plan all meals for the weekend before your guests get there! Now I know this isn’t a decorating idea or tip, but you’d be amazed how much stress you will relieve yourself from. Planning all meals ahead of time allows you to spend more time with your guests and reduce those last second grocery store runs.

I hope these tips have inspired you to rethink your guest bedroom before the holidays and welcome guests into your home! Happy holidays!
